Tools - Settings - Network |
Two options are offered for loading the network:
- Use Windows Shell for network loading
If this option is chosen, the network is loaded by Windows functions. - Use FreeCommander for network loading
If this option is chosen, the network is loaded directly by FreeCommander. FreeCommander may provide higher performance than does Windows, especially for loading large networks. - If the network is loaded by FreeCommander, the setting
Show hidden shares
can be checked. This will display shares that are not visible in Windows (e.g. ADMIN$).
If this setting is checked, the server lists will be read from the cache instead of being investigated afresh on each folder change. Activating the hotkey "Ctrl+Alt+R" refreshes the cache.
Load network in background process on program start
If this setting is checked, the network is loaded in a background process when FreeCommander starts.
