File Container typo and partial lack of already implemented sub-feature

#1 Post by Forez » 19.03.2026, 10:05

The release info for Build 913 (viewtopic.php?p=43418#p43418) says that

Code: Select all

It is possible now to copy to multiple selected folders in File Container
I understand this as an ability to

#1] Create File Container

#2] Select minimum 2 whatever folders

#3] Drag them to the File Container

#4]
Select item(s) not residing in these folders that have been added to the File Container

#5A] Execute F5 on them all the way in; or

#5B] Manually drag selection and drop it on any of the selected folders

in order to have copies created in all these folders that have been selected in the File Container

And indeed when I use the (A method of) F5, I will eventually get copies created in those folders - but first I must OK the pop-up that says

Code: Select all

Do you want to copy selected items in multiple folders?
which is misleading, as it suggest that what will be created are copies of items that already are residing in those selected folders. This should either be changed to

Code: Select all

Do you want to copy selected item(s) to multiple selected folders?
i.e. replace the >>in<< with >>to<<, or it should be changed to

Code: Select all

Do you want to create copies of selection in multiple folders?
i.e. leave the >>in<< but rework significantly the proceeding it part about selection

As for the usage of the (B method of) dragging, it simply does not work. I will just get the selected items added to the File Container, instead of having them dropped to folders that were already in it and then have been selected. So this is either a bug, because it does not work - or this has never been implemented, and as such I am hereby suggesting adding this new sub-ability
