Something is bothering me about FreeCommanders search function:
I want to search only in .PDF files.

what is the correct location to filter out all other file types <> pdf?

I would put in to "File name:" *.pdf, so that only .pdf files are searched and in "containing text" the text you are searching.
Both are in the location tab of the search dialog.
